Taking Stock and Making Plans
By now, I am halfway through my experience with The Nomad MBA. On the one hand, I can’t believe that it’s already been six weeks. I’m convinced time is passing even faster here in Latin America. On the other hand, I can’t believe that it’s only been six weeks. I’ve learned so much already. On a professional note, I finished my Digital Marketing nanodegree yesterday right on time. The next step is to start one of the two entrepreneurial courses on offer here. That’s either ‘Get Startup Ready‘ or ‘Go Freelancer‘. And although they both sound great and I’m sure there’s a lot to gain from both of them, I think the freelancing one is much more aligned with what I can see myself doing in the future.
Personally, I am looking forward to having some more time for introspection and reflection during the second half of The Nomad MBA. I’ve grown tremendously as a person already and dare to say that I am not the same Julia anymore that left home five months ago. But I also know that I haven’t reached my full potential yet. I really want to take the time to focus on personal and spiritual growth and nurture my mind and soul with inspiring topics. There are so many amazing books on my ‘to-read’ list, e.g. ‘The Art of Communication‘ by Thich Nhat Hanh, ‘Autobiography of a Yogi‘ by Paramahansa Yogananda and ‘Stumbling on Happiness‘ by Daniel Gilbert. I am also doing the eight-week RISE UP course by Elevate The Globe and thinking about doing a Reiki certification as well.
Getting comfortable in the Stretch Zone
Then there are all the interesting and challenging workshops we are doing here as well. Some of my biggest breakthroughs happened during them. The most recent one ‘The beauty of video’ by one of the founders came with a twist. Every one of us was to create a video about a day at The Nomad MBA and then post the result on Facebook. And we had less than 48 hours for that! I was quite intimidated just thinking about it. I had never made a video before so my expectations weren’t too high. But posting anything I am not completely happy with totally goes against my perfectionistic nature. So I put all my heart and dedication in it and was surprised by how much fun it is. I am super proud of the end result and the fact that I created it myself! 🙂 You can see for yourself below:
Please be kind everyone, watch with the sound on and enjoy! 🙂
And let me know in the comments if you have any feedback. After all, I’m here to learn and grow.
